I would like to ask you where the milk, butter, ghee and milk products come from. The human race is definitely very greedy. If it has always just been about not harming other animals, why do we use various methods so that cows produce more milk? Should that be considered right? are the methods of milking cows not harmful? After all, dairy products are obtained by harming cows, isn't it?
Answer: Milk products do come from cows and buffaloes. Yes, humans infact are greedy, it is one of our vices. Using hormones, and products to make cows produce more milk is inherently wrong. However, cows do produce a lot more milk than other mammals, measured in liters or gallons per cow. This is why cows are preferred. Sikh Guru did consume milk and milk product such as butter and kheer (rice pudding cooked in milk). This is because milking a cow does not go into killing the cow or harming the cow. Cows and Buffaloes were (and still are by some) very cared for. People built shelters for them, bathed them, fed them with all natural food, and cared for them. However, In our modern society, dairy production is very commercialized. Animals do suffer, which is not right. So, keeping this in mind, only organic milk should be consumed which is free of all chemicals and hormones and does not go into harming the animals.
