According to Sikhism, all castes are equal. There is no distinction between any human based on caste, color, religion, gender, or class. Everyone is equal in Sikhism. One can marry whoever they desire. However, some Sikhs families do follow the castes influenced by the culture (against instructions of Sikhism). Some families do prefer some castes over other castes, which is completely wrong and promotes prejudice. Actions of some Sikhs do no define Sikhism.
