From what I've read you're opposed to people isolating themselves from society. What if it's because their brain hasn't properly developed, but they still try to function in society (like with autism)?

Answer:

None should be shunned or turned away or isolated. We are all part of the same Consciousness. If a person is Autistic or physically impaired, they have the same place in the society as everyone else. Sikhism does not discriminate anyone based on any attributes.
