The word Sukhmani literally means Treasure (Mani) of Peace (Sukh). Sukhmani Sahib is a set of hymns compiled in Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at 262. Sukhmani Sahib is divided into 24 sections called Ashtpadi (Asht means 8). Each Ashtpadi consists of 8 hymns. According to Sikhism, Sukhmani Sahib is believed to bring peace to one's mind and compound peace to the world. This set of 192 hymns were compiled by Guru Arjan Dev Ji, fifth Guru of Sikhs.
